Rajah String Quartet - FAQs

  • Which areas does your String Quartet cover?

Although we are based in Manchester, we are more than willing to travel throughout England, Wales, Scotland and even abroad.
  • Can I request a specific piece of music?

If we do not have an arrangement of a piece of music in our repertoire already, we can arrange it for you at a small cost. Please note that we require at least one month's notice for this service.
  • Will the String Quartet be loud enough for my event?

For weddings or events with over 100 guests, we recommend the use of a PA system. We are able to provide our own system for an additional fee.
  • Are there any other expenses to pay?

Travel to venues within 30 miles of Manchester are included within the standard booking fee. However, an additional charge may be made for venues more than 30 miles away.
  • What facilities will the String Quartet require on the day?

All we need are four armless chairs set out where you wish us to play. We need a space of about 3m x 2m.
  • What will the String Quartet wear on the day?

We like to dress to suit the occasion so the ladies are able to wear matching saris, while the men will wear all black. Alternatively all four members can dress in black if that is more in keeping with your style of event.
  • Can the String Quartet play outdoors?

We are more than happy to play outdoors. However, we will not be able to play outdoors if it is raining or damp because of the damage it would cause to our instruments. For the same reason, we require a shaded area if there is bright sunshine.
  • How do we make a booking?

To enquire about availability and price, please use the contact form and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
  • What happens if a member of the String Quartet is unavailable?

If a member of our String Quartet is unavailable. we will arrange for an equally professional and talented musician to join the group.
